About Sage

Driven. Creative. Innovative. Playful.

My journey as a designer started with repurposing old clothing in my closet. I enjoyed the creativity and innovation of piecing together scraps and worn clothing into something new. I've grown to find inspiration in the things I see around me and the ways in which they could be repurposed into something fresh. As a designer, I want to create pieces that inspire fun and creativity. I dislike the mundane, and am always trying to inject bold color and pattern into my work.

Past

In High School I was focused on a sustainable approach to fashion. I first began sewing using thrift clothes and upcycling them into something new. In my senior year, I complete a collection for my AP Art class focusing on sustainable fashion. The collection featured pieces made of metal can tabs, plastic, and thrifted fabrics.

Present

I am currently completing a degree in Apparel and Merchandising with a concentration in Apparel Design and Production. In college, I have stayed focused on sustainability while learning how to apply these beliefs into designs that could sell and be produced a large scale. I have learned many skills in pattern making and computer-aided design softwares.

Future

I am striving towards a career at a well established brand, doing pattern making and digital design. I see myself as a strong asset to brand in it's product development or design team. As I get closer to finishing my degree I am looking to get involved with a brand that inspires me.
