Expressionist Guitar Print
This print was inspired by a mix of the expressionist area and the cubism area of art. It features an abstract guitar motif that uses a cubist style. The motif was made using a lino-block stamp making technique and scanned into photoshop. It is part of textile collection that is inspired by the previous century of art and art movements.
Tile Print
This tile print is another in my textile collection that explores the progression of art over the previous century. This print pulls inspiration from the tiles used on Antoni Gaudi's Casa Batllo in Barcelona, Spain. Following my high school graduation I went to Spain and fell in love with the architecture, specifically the works of Antoni Gaudi. I was inspired to create something based off of his work. He is also a prominent artist of the Art Nouveau movement which is featured in my collection.
Expressionist Sunflower Print
This print again focuses on expressionism, I took inspiration from one of my favorite expressionist paintings Woman in Front of a Vase with Sunflowers by Ernst Ludwig Kirchner. I feel connected to this painting as my mom's favorite flowers are sunflowers and growing up we always had sunflowers growing in our backyard. The motif is hand painted by me and edited in photoshop to become a spot repeat.
